Electrochemically Driven, Electrode-Addressable Formation of Functionalized Polydopamine Films for Neural Interfaces.

This work reports a new method to selectively bio-functionalize neural interfaces using bioinspired adhesive film ('polydopamine'). We showed that neuron-adhesive biomolecules and polymers (polylysine, RGD peptides) can be linked on microelectrode surfaces via covalent bonds using electrochemically synthesized polydopamine film.
